This was brought back to me after all these years. I find it amusing that my style then, was less perfection and what appears to be a relunctance in applying the paint to the canvas. Even then, I was working with a varience of monochrome colors and was just then beginning to experiment with how shadows and perspective plays a roll in a painting. Where ever this painting was hung, it looked like the gun barrel was looking right at you, and was so disturbing that it went into an early retirement until it was uncovered last year when the house was sold. |
