Stéphane Béguin was born in Toulouse, in the South of France, in 1968. He went to the School of Beaux-Arts in Toulouse in 1985 and specialized in Industrial Design. During 6 years, he worked as an independent designer, then co-founded the corporate visual identity agency Global Design which lasted 7 years. Today, he lives between Toulouse and Barcelona, and works as a branding and corporate identity consultant in human ressources. He discovered painting in February 2004 doing portrays in acrylic. His influence can be found in classical painting, as well as in the romantic movement of the beginning of the 19th century, in the harshness of the northern European painting and in the richness of contemporary applied arts. He found in portray an opportunity to express the duality between life and death, love and pain, kindness and violence. Behind this first impression of harshness that the portrays and the paintbrush can evoke, we also found passion and humour. Attracted by the human soul, by his character sometimes noble and often predatory, he paints humans’ “états d'âme” which we all encounter and bear through our life. Drawing and painting aren't not the saint magic from god, you have to work everyday.
