French watercolorist, born in Paris in 1962. I was trained in Martenot workshops for many years, then in an art workshop in Moulins sur Allier, and in evening classes in drawing and sculpture at the Academy of Fine Arts of Valenciennes. I also did internships with professional watercolorists.
Holder of a license in private law, registered at the Maison des Artistes, host of courses and workshops in Seine et Marne, I participate in numerous exhibitions in Seine et Marne and Charente Maritime.
"Painting is writing, not describing" ... My watercolors are figurative, but my goal is to leave a part of dream, of mystery. The gesture must therefore be spontaneous, this is also what watercolor allows, which forces, by drying quickly, to work quickly, while allowing "corrections" on dry or wet paper.
Focusing on the essential to remove unnecessary detail is a principle that I also apply. Painting is not photography. Light is also one of my priorities. I like this quote from Renoir: "This drawing took me five minutes, but I took sixty years to get there" ...
Work and experience make it possible to improve and always progress. During this second lockdown, I had to interrupt my classes and my internships. I set up a "step by step" system, which I sent every week to my students. Then, the idea came to me to make a collection of ten exercises allowing readers to make watercolors, following all the explanations necessary to achieve complete works.
