Mark was born in Belfast in 1975, but is living in Portrush now. He is a self taught artist and has drawn and painted since the early years of his life. Mark has been inspired by the works of great Dutch and English masters. He spent a number of years working with pencil, chalk pastel and charcoal but then moved to using oil as he prefers the richness of the colours and the ease at which they blend together.
Mark’s works have been exhibited in a number of galleries on the North Coast and also have a large collection of paintings in private collections. Mark quotes “I get my continuous inspiration from the sea and sky that the rugged North Coast has to offer and I am sure that I will continue to do so till I can paint no more”.
