The brush becomes an extension of my arm, an extension of my body. What a joy... At first there is a substance, a white and unctuous matter which responds to my movements. I leave my marks on the canvas, I feed it. Only later the colours come. I try to reach my feelings, my guts, to be honest with myself. At first, I never know where I am going, it is the canvas that leads me, that takes me by surprise. My painting is the mirror of my feelings and wanders between unreal personages and dreamy landscapes. I was born in Israel and graduated from the training school of the University of Haifa, in Fine Arts. When I moved to France in 1974, I discovered the art of enamel on copper and dedicated 15 years of my life to this art. My creations, mainly poetic surrealistic, were shown in several galleries and national exhibitions as well as in numerous individual and group exhibitions. My works received several awards and I was guest of honour in the Taverny exhibition. As of now, I have changed my way of expression and if I am no longer in front of my ovens, but in front of the canvas, I always need to work on the matter. I was lucky to meet Ben Ami Koller and Michel Herve and to become their pupil. Both of them helped me to find my way on this new path. I regularly join exhibitions in Orleans surroundings: at "Printemps des Arts" of Galerie Pryvée, in the Artistes Orleanais show, at Adacao in Olivet, with "Expressions PluriElles" at the castle of St Jean le Blanc. I was the guest of honour of the 4th "Printemps des Artistes" Spring of the Artists of Aselqo in Orleans. |
