Virginie Iztueta

Self-taught amateur painter whose technics gets enhanced and polished painting after painting. Being such a perfectionist, her works require many hours standing in front of her easel and offer most of the time a hazy mood tinged with a mystical/unreal touch, with frequently an evocation of her Basque Country in the background.
French writer/philosopher Paul Valéry wrote "Talent without genius is nothing much. Genius without talent is just nothing", whereas according to French journalist/humorist Philippe Bouvard, "...intelligence means knowing you've got neither talent nor genius." So, do we have an ounce of intelligence?
Anyway, the most important thing is that painting brings pleasure and satisfaction, and that looking at a painting inspires a sense of escapism.
