Coming from Navarrese parents, due to a lack of freedom in Spain,
they moved to Paris. I was later born in Belgium, since my childhood
and adolescence, I have been interested in the plastic arts, under
the influence of my mother, a painter, it is then that I studied Fine
Arts in Saint-Gilles (Brussels). The years take place under a roof
impregnated with culture, reading and art, which are permanently
married and accompany us in our lives.

Belgium, "this flat country of mine, with a sky so low that a
duck got lost...". (Jacques Brel), ... I too am lost..."
(Jacques Brel). My desire, to go back to my origins, the sun, the
Mediterranean culture, the village of my holidays at my grandfather
and grandmother's house. Things are no longer going well economically
for us, my father's company (architect) is going bankrupt, perhaps a
call for a change...

Finally, at the age of 18, I returned to Navarra, first alone and
then accompanied by my mother and father, from then on we started a
new path together, without income, without knowledge of the
territory, customs and market, a new route, we embarked on a
beautiful and long adventure dedicated to natural stone, to be able
to access and execute projects all over Spain, being able to work
with architects such as Bofill, Calatrava, Jean Nouvel, David
Chiperfield, having the opportunity to apply natural stone in the
world of architecture and urban design. ..

This is where my intimate and close relationship with natural
stone and the quarries, both national and foreign, begins, imbuing me
with these first inspirations in the exciting world of stone and the
petrographic formation of the territories.

Travels in Spain, in the depths of the country, its traditions,
its regions and territories, sometimes mountainous, sometimes desert.
Also, exciting trips abroad, as dangerous and adventurous as
interesting, endless and risky journeys in search of unknown, hidden
and at the same time exotic stones, lost quarries, lost places and
people, lost faces and looks, all this forms me, and creates economic
comfort, but also personal growth, in which, as the years go by, I
navigate through adventures and experiences.

In the meantime, my physical practice of art, on the other hand,
slows down during all these years, but not forgotten. Sometimes in
the evenings I draw, sometimes with my mother, my research and my
look is there, I constantly feed my artistic inspiration through my
travels and visions in different cultures and especially in the world
of architecture.

Year 2008, the economic crisis is collapsing us again, it is as if
life, says to me, this path of economic abundance, is leaving you, it
is leaving you, you have to start again. The choice is in front of
me, this upheaval opens the door to change many things in my life, to
reflect and question myself, to be able to look at a new horizon.

Starting again from scratch, losing everything, what a nuisance,
being a winner, being denied, being recognised, being forgotten, the
absurd within the absurd. I don't lose my hand or my head, I start
again, I remake myself, the elements and material desires slip away,
art appears again, takes its place in my person and in my life with
incredible strength, a return, an awakening, it calls me, it speaks
to me, I listen to it, I look at it, I follow it and I join it.

At present, I sail between San Juan de Luz and San Sebastian, in
my activity of natural stone, with which I continue to be linked.

About two years ago, I had an awakening of my sculptor spirit, due
to the influence of Basque and Navarrese sculptors such as Chillida,
Oteiza, Basterretxea, Ibarrola.

Basque art, this ethnic, ancestral art, fascinates me, seeks me
out. This primary art, this clash between matter and man, this
contact with hands and thoughts, stone and iron, seduces me, impels
me towards this world of the past, these sculptors from before, our
origins, our materials, our mountains, our ocean, and iron, this
material from our shipbuilding industry, our seaports, all of this
guides me, leads me to find myself and express myself towards a new
artistic world that I discover through sculpture.

Art, serves me as a personal and artistic means of expression,
sometimes connected to the expression of my movements and physical
efforts, which at the same time submerge me in a universe of
well-being and freedom.

In the history of sculpture, especially that of natural stone
stone and iron, was created for public statements, squares,
roundabouts, churches, monuments or private buyers with economic
means, I, for my part, seek to popularize it and is no longer a
property reserved for a single sector of society, except that it can
happen to the possibilities of all people sensitive to art , that's
why I create and combine small sizes as well as large sizes, so that
they can be easily installed and be present somewhere inside the
houses and can watch time pass in the intmity of family life.
