As a self-taught painter I have to admit that drawing has always been a familiar way of expressing myself.
I started dealing with colours in 1992, first painting in water colours for its transparency and a certain kind of fragility originating from it, then I began oil painting for the strength of the brushstroke, at last I chose painting in pastels as I found out that it had the thickness, the smoothness and the sensuousness of the matter.
Moreover if I add that the only tools of a pastel painter are his or her fingers this technique has really been a revelation for me and I think that now I can define myself as a "pastel artist". When I paint, my aim isn't to transmit any particular message but to share feelings, emotions deeply felt with others.
Therefore, my sources of inspiration are very varied, but they all have a common point : the search for harmony and beauty. My paintings are an invitation to have a break in order to appreciate the beauty of an object, the fragility of a flower, the shimmering of a drape of cloth, the elegance of a figure, the harmony of a landscape.
So the idea to share my passion for pastel painting with others became a necessity very naturally, for me in taking part in exhibitions mostly regional ones, where I was distinguished ans even prized in some of them.
