 | Pianist with Whirlwind | | Dimensions (HxL) : | 100x100 cm | | Style : | Réalisme | | Technique : | Bronze | | Thème : | Patchwork | | Catégorie : | Découpage | | Desc. : | Pianist in the whirlwind was conceived at the end of the summer or 2004. The piece presents students and businessmen walking instep into the eye of a hurricane. The only figure in the painting that is not properly dressed and headed into the storm is a naked pianist. I always found the work load of an engineering student, to be quite challenging. I felt the upcoming semester would be unusually tough due to an overloaded schedule, a new job, and a tumultuous summer. The whirlwind/hurricane represents the stress and chaos that I associate with engineering school. The naked pianist is a self portrait and the predominant figure on the left represents the man I was to become. |
