French painter with the abstract paysagism inspired by Zao Wou Ki, Olivier Debré, Nicolas de Stael, George Matthieu or further still from Claude Monet and J.W.M. Turner... Sylvain Dhuême was born  at Boulogne-sur-Mer (North of France) in 1969.

“I paint what I like, what touches me or surprises me. I became painter one fine day, I can’t explain how. That to say moreover, I have continued and I continue to paint, that always pleases to me and when it's has others, I am happy.”

Abstract or not-figurative painter? That imports little. Because its works, year by year, at each new exhibition affirm a sensitivity nature without any form of romanticism and... sentimentality, thus transcending cleavages usual (and easy) between holding of a photographic representation and favourites of the total abstraction, even of a contemporary art elitist and obscure, defect to be rebellious. Because for him, painting, before being a means of engagement, is before a  whole question of serenity.
