sculptures marbre blanc de Carrare
I discovered the great pleasure of admiring paintings and sculptures during my first stay in Italy in my early twenties.
As I had longed to draw for a long time, hence I decided to learn the craft in various Art Schools (North of France).
In the end of the 80's and the 90's, I enrolled classes for adults. starting with live models drawing and in volume- modeling (Ecole des Beaux Arts in Lille, ESSAT in Roubaix) before returning to live models drawing in 2008 (Ecole Supérieure d’Arts in Tourcoing).
This work on the human body, its shapes and forms, all led me naturally to sculpture - clay modeling work on draped bodies- fusion of clay and copper making for lighter and airier sculptures, as well as a dab in wood carving.
But above all else, I really wished to sculpt stone and carve white marble, so my love for Italy made me choose to study near Carrare.
Since 2012 , I go regularly work and exchange experiences .in an international and professional marble art studio, where sculptors and craftsmen, talented and skilled thrive together.
Some of my marble sculptures are expressions of the human body whereas others derive from free inspiration.
More recently, with acrylic on canvas
I use multiple canvases superimposed, layers and canvas draped.
For inspiration, I organized and staged pieces of photos of holydays for more figurative works (Venise, Egypte New York) and let my imagination go for the others (Rome,Jardin, Paravent 4 Saisons et Elements, Création…)
I also used some of the sketches made during my Art School classes to paint the set " Les Nus"
