Iza Szewczyk - Enter the gallery

As I open myself to the moment of creation, I open myself to confront the nature, objects, other human being. I try to face the emptiness - not only the one inside - but the one on the canvas.  This creates multiplicity of objects, moods, emotions and of myself in what I create. That is why my (private) horror vacui is a threat of lack of tension, which I try to reflect and which I taste while painting. This tension makes the work live, everything gets punk without it. The same about lights and shades - I scrutinize nature and its harmony for them. Each object, part of reality is important for me when I paint, when I create my vision. I mean to give desirable sense and intended value to each plastic shape, to show joy, sedness, fear or hope in it. I wish each shape bears emotional context. One of the major factors of my work is using piece of myself and my experiences.
The process of creation is not always uniform, it undergoes changes and you always may experience something new. In whichever direction this change heads (and will in the future), it always shall be at least a piece of my internal portrait, acting among landscapes or interiors with my paintings in the background.
