Born in 1967, she lives and works in Corsican . Florence Santoni is a self taught painter who has been exploring different techniques since early childhood : watercolours, pastels, earthenware, oil paint . She has conducted fine arts workshops for children and adults for 13 years but at present dedicates herself solely to painting.
She took part in numerous exhibition shows and art competitions.
Thematic of her work : Her serial works use the fusional relationship between the human body and the Earth as a powerful and sensual recurring theme.
Symbolism : In a symbiotic relation with minerals and the soil bodies change shape, they metamorphose, they become vegetal, creating an intimate and private bond between nature and human beings and celebrating the harmony or the World. Here, a flower woman or a tree man spreads out surrealistically in delicate touches of Boreal light, there, the last spark of a threatened antagonist body is displayed in crepuscular light.
Birth and life, captured in their most vigourous expression, coexist with death and frailty, both represented in radiant colours and full curves.
