After graduating from The Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale with a Bachelor’s Degree in Interior Design, he continued his studies in several ateliers, which furthered his education and helped him evolve into a visual artist. His multi-faceted career has involved him in many projects and exhibitions in his home country of Peru, as well as several other countries. In his career as an Interior Designer, his vision and taste celebrate the timeless and shows disdain for the trendy. It is cherished knowledge of art history that allows him to juxtapose objects of various cultures and times with the natural, therefore celebrating the simplicity of a “popular” object as well as the Baroque Period of the 18th century and its excesses, to the synthesis of the contemporary. His spaces represent proportion, harmony and balance approaching them with a meditative spirit inspired by the serenity of an Eastern philosophy. The essence of the work of Roque Saldías is the interrelation between the Art and Design; sharing in both worlds the same search for beauty and quality.
