Born in 1948 in Charente (16) , figurative painter Sylviane Petit, affiliated to the"Maison des Artistes" ;

Passioned by art and color since my early youth, I was inspired by strolling through the countryside with its old roads, its river, its poppies and sunflowers, its roosters and chicken, but also by my father in his cabinetmaker workshop, where I discovered the smell of wood and its different perfumes. It is an interesting material to paint, to explore in all of its softness and to draw out every single  insignificant detail in ordr to show its beauty.

Afer having explored many (aquarel, pastel), my favourite one remains oil painting. I use either a paintbrush or a knife, depending on the moment's inspiration.

I've participed to many rapid painting contests during the "Fête du Patrimoine" in Essonne (VERT LE GRAND in 1989 - 1st prize - and 1993) and in the Yvelines (CHATOU in 1990)

I participed to different exhibitions and salons .
