Ivan Panfilov - Enter the gallery

Ivan Panfilov (1957) is the member of the International Federation of Artists UNESCO and National Artist's Union of Russia. He lives in Moscow. His father, who was a pilot and an artist, gave him the first lessons of paintings. Ivan graduated from the State Correspondence University of Arts (Moscow, 1984), courses "Icon painting" (1994) and "Painting on wood" (1995).

Ivan's young life was influenced by Van Gogh, Vrubel, Roerich and Dostoevsky. His first works showed his attempt to look at the world philosophically.
In his paintings and sketches he deliberatly chose a monochromic spectrum of dull colours that reflects his own perception of the world. He often experiments by mixing paints in different combinations.
The artist creates several collections united by a general idea. Genre and the different techniques of the collection changes with the theme of the work. His series of paintings or drawings has it's own expressive language, but the main theme of the artist's creative work is the dialogue between nature and the "civilised" world.

Ivan Panfilov's works are at the Temnikov local-history museum (Russia), Moscow Library N78 (Russia) and at the private collections in Russia, Belgium, Finland, France, Great Britain, India, Luxembourg, the Netherlands and the USA. More than 750 his drawings and paintings were acquired for collections in Portugal.
