Sandrine Naveau - Enter the gallery

I have been brought up in a family of artists and I have been accustomed very early to all sorts of artistic fields.
Therefore, I have naturally been attracted by studies in art history. Getting to know the great masters of painting has increased my passion for painting and given me the desire to know what I was capable of creating myself.

I like to “transform” shapes of nature in simple patterns. The real stake in my paintings are colours, more than the lines themselves. I like to try and find the “right” colour, and give it more brightness.
In order to simplify patterns and intensify the colours, I chose to enclose the different shapes in a black lines.

Little by little, painting has taken a very important place in my life. At first I started to paint by curiosity, but very soon it has become for me a necessity to paint.
During my trips throughout the world, I have been inspired by new subjects, but always guided by my wish to exalt nature by simplified shapes and vivid colours.
This obsession with bright colours in an idealised landscape probably comes from my optimistic way of seeing life.
