Although she was born in Tunisia, Benothmane grew up in Toulon, France where she attended Nice University and majored in Foreign Languages. The self-taught painter and Yorktown resident moved to the United States in 1991 and has since taken many opportunities to share her passion for the arts. She was featured in an exhibition at the Durham Public Library and at the Tunisian Embassy in Washington DC. She taught oil painting in the region and has been commissioned to do several paintings. Her paintings show that people everywhere are connected and that art is a universal language.
