What they're looking for...
Valérie Loron was born in Aigueperse in the Rhone
region of France in 1969. She worked in software design for several
years before focusing entirely on her life passion: art.
Her work involves a study into the concept of time, and more specifically, its role in physical nature (the universe, molecules, etc.), in living things, and in the mind (imagination, projection into the future).
scientific training has prompted an observational and experimental
approach. In her most recent work, she employs a truly original
technique that enables her to combine two of her favourite subjects:
geology and music. Using pebbles as impromptu brushes, which tap
against slate and limestone slabs, the artist improvises her own
musical composition. “I find music to be the best art to express the
rhythms of people and objects. The pigments deposited on the paper on
top of the slate represent the notion of dust. I would like my work to
continue to exist and to reach out to people beyond the moment.”
