Hi! I am Lena Alekseyeva.
I was born on May, 17, 1977 in Crimea (Ukraine).
Since an early childhood I became interested in fine arts. I started to draw and paint when I was 5 years old. Seriously I was involved in my future occupation since 1987, when I started to obtain individual lessons from well-known crimean artists.
- 1996-2000 Studying at Crimea Arts College in Simferopol, Ukraine.
- 2000-2004 Studying at Kharkov State Academy of Design and Arts in Kharkov (Ukraine).
After successful graduating received a Specialist Diploma with Honour.
- 2004-2005 Studying at Kharkov State Academy of Design and Arts in Kharkov (Ukraine).
After successful graduating received a Magister of Arts Diploma with Honour.
Now (from September, 1-st, 2005) I am a teacher of History of Arts in the National Tavrika's Ecological University. Also I'm now an applicant to Candidate of Sciences degree at Kharkov State Academy of Design and Arts.
I continue working with my favourite technique - hand-held print (etching, linoleum engraving, polyvinylchloride engraving, xylography (wood-engraving). Sometimes I use a mixed technique, which can be explained by appearing of contemporary materials and contemporary tools (including computer finishing and adaptation).
Also I'm very fond of water-colour painting. I like making sketches everywhere, especially in my native Crimea, the place where I was born and where I live now.
During all the period of my studying I took place in different exhibitions and shows:
- 1998 - Crimean Art Exhibition of Young Artists
- 2001 - Kharkov House of Creative Works
- 2004 - Kharkov Municipal Gallery of Arts
Some of my works are in private collections through the world, including Ukraine, Russia, Egypt, Canada, USA.
