Quick access :
I started painting in 1984 in the atelier in Pontoise. Mrs Liné-Jagot, a professional painter, ran workshop and she gave me the freedom of painting.
She handed her tastes and her own style on without imposing them. She rarely showed her work but she shared that pleasure of interpreting the reality of objects, and that of standing away from reality.
Figurative painting, which I enjoy, was something I necessarily had to deal with but also someyhing I wanted to excape from. At the same time, I discovered that abstract expression was as difficult, with less visible but as demanding constraints, regarding balance et composition for instance.
In 1999, with painter friends, we created the workshop "Empreinte", located in Eragny, Val 'Oise. We wanted that workshop to be open, to be a place where we can take advantage of each other's experience and get some help, where we can work on what we want, respecting each other's tastes and rhythm.
throughout the years, I took part in many collective exhibitions in the area (pontoise, Eragny, Eaubonne).
From a technical point of view, I use acrylic paint and different kinds of ink. Explaining my process remains difficult but I would say that my colours depend on my mood, and then on the canvas I look for balance, for a movement, for an emotion, and sometimes I find it...but not always !
I paint for myself and for pleasure, of course. But I also paint for people, for the ones who look and who, I hope, will appreciate.
