Bernard Lamonerie - Enter the gallery

As far as I remember, I always used to draw.
Born in1946, in Limousin, my artistic career started in 1962 at the fine art school of Limoges. Then, arrived in Paris, for professional reasons, I went to the fine art school of Paris between 1968 and 1970.
I was president of an academy of painting and plastic arts in Limoges, from 1987 to 2001.
I am still a member of artistic groups in France and I organized many shows where very known artists took part in.
Early retired, I dedicate an important part of my life to creation.
Colour and light I discover through the impressionists and Gauguin represent to me basic elements of painting.
I define myself as a FIGURATIVE COLOURIST painter.
I love, in the course of my journeys, of my strolls, of my meetings, to sketch scenes of the daily life to which are strictly connected the beings which compose them.
Utrillo painted his figures of back not to have to give them faces, I paint them in the attitudes. It is their gestures which inspire me, their colours, even their soul while remaining them anonymous.
A painting should always give a part of dream, a gate on imaginary. I think we all need that today.
My personal exhibitions drive me to many french places : Bordeaux, Toulouse, Nantes, Saint-Emilion, Orléans, Lille, Chalons en Champagne, Nîmes, Paris (Galerie Art Présent, Salon des Indépendants, Salon d'Autonme, La Poste museum...), Limoges (Galerie Municipale every two years since 10 years), etc...
I have works in private collections in France, Europe and United States.
Have a nice visit and don't hesitate to contact me!
