I was born in Iasi, the city regarded as the cultural capital of Romania as well as the home to it's oldest University. I started studying art at the age of 10 and graduated from the National College of Fine Arts in Iasi, "O Bancila."

Over the years, several great artists including some of my teachers have influenced the style of my work. In particular, I admit to inspiration from G. Klimt, Delacroix, Goya, and Dragos Patrascu, but my inspiration comes from life itself. I have always found the richest source of emotion for the art I create in people and all that binds them to their identities. People provide meaning to the life I express in the same way as life provides my being.

Separate lines that form characters in my graphics are meant to translate a personality fragmented into the two worlds we are all part of: the sacred and the profane.

The reason why I prefer black ink to colour is because I cannot give colour the same strength of manifestation. Whereas with my pen and ink I can retrace all the strands of the human spirit to their origin and comb or entangle them to reach the peak of expression.
