Josette Jeannin-FRANCOIS was born in the Côte d'Or, Burgundy. She is essentially selftaught and as a chil spent hours drawing and loved to sketch her family and friends.
Since 1973, she has exhibited in the region of her birthplace of Saint Jean de Losne and ever since has participated in many exhibitions, both individual and collective, where her work on pastel drawn nudes has been noticed and rewarded.
Skilled with coloured crayons, using several successive layers, she paints in detail to increase the density of the fur of 'her little family of dogs and cats'. She also works in acrylics and oils, two techniques that she uses above all to achieve her "trompe-l'oeil" paintings.
From early 2000, she has been passionate about her work with dry pastels, which has become one of her preferred methods. A sensual working technique, which is for her a marvellous discovery, has become a true passion.
