I seriously began painting when I was 12, then following classic courses. Soon painting was in concurrence against my passion for mountains which led me climbing numerous routes among the Alps. Later I gave my professionnal activities up for having time for my family, artistic & mountaineering lives. I mostly stay today in Mont-Blanc country where I have my workshop. From my youth, the figurative paintings I did though long raids in nature learnt me to look, to stand into a landscape and follow the lights and the colors. Today I work mostly surrealistic and symbolist painting, still with the excuse of translating a light or a mountain and fit them to a theme, … or the contrary. Continuing skiing and mountaineering and very concerned with the issue of the greenhouse effect and along with my current art style, I specially painted in 2006 & 2007 some canvas works to point out an extreme (?) vision of some aspects of well-known places in the Alps. Sometimes I still enjoy installing my easel in magic places of Mont-Blanc area for the simple pleasure of spending a day in altitude and ‘melting’ inside a landscape. |
