Jean Pierre FAUVET is a French artist born in Bobigny on April 26, 1970.
In 1992, he held his first joint exhibition, AREXPO, in NARBONNE. His canvas “LES FLEURS DU MAL” appeared on the back cover of the exhibition catalogue.
It was in the same year that he met the Colombian painter Carlos E.VELEZ who followed him in his work and realised a figurative series, mainly in black and white, notably including portraits and nudes on the themes of religion and fashion.
Between 1995 to 2000 colour appeared in his work, at first tentatively and then more meaningfully, offering him a new palette of emotions with still wrenching but more intimate body shapes. It was also during this period that he created his first canvasses on the controversial theme of “LES REGLES” and another series on “LES ARBRES”.
Through colour Jean-Pierre FAUVET particularly favours line and texture.Between 2000 and 2005 his work has turned more towards drawing and in 2005 for the first time he was drawn to sculpture with a piece of work entitled “TENSION INTIME”. The same year he launched his web site jp-fauvet.com which brings together all the work that he would like to show the general public.
The beginning of 2006 will see several joint exhibitions in Paris with his presence for the first time at the SALON DES PEINTRES INDEPENDANTS at ESPACE CHAMPERRET. He has also been selected for the heritage weekends at Espace du MARCHE DES BLANCS MANTEAUX, organised by the Ministry of Culture and the 4th arrondissement municipality.
