In terms of educational and academic background Tijen Sikar holds an undergraduate degree in Painting from Dokuz Eylul University, Izmir in 1987. She also did a further study in painting at the same university in 1989 and carried her profession as a lecturer, research assistant until 1991.
She relocated to Istanbul in 1993 where she also enrolled in another graduate study in fine arts concentrating on Turkish painting at Mimar Sinan University.
She started to manage a private art studio in 1993 where she tutored.
She has participated in twelve solo exhibitions and numerous group exhibitions so far.
She has taken an active role as a board member of Unesco, AIAP Turkey of which she is currently a member since 1994.
Her style and technique: Figurative paintings in oil, acrylic and watercolor. Landscapes dominate her works.
