Brigitte Tarrats was born in Algiers, Algeria, and now lives in the Bordeaux region. She practised a number of different artistic techniques for many years, with a particular focus on pastel, water color and academic drawing at the Bordeaux Fine Arts School while studying towards her B.A in Plastic Arts.

Her current artistic approach takes her on a journey between figurative and abstract expressions, experimenting new textures that favor gestures and spontaneity. Brigitte's Meditterranean roots often come across in her works through their color and light contrasts as well as the enigmatic and meaningful strength infused into them.
