I was born 12.1.1955 in Celje, Slovenia.

During my childhood I lived in a farm of my father in Šentjanž village in Zgornja Savinjska walley, where I had a chance to observe and enjoy all the beauties of the nature. This is one of the reasons that a motif of the nature and the animals remains my famous and most common used ones.

Despite the hard work in the farm I was involved in as a boy, life in a farm brought many joy and understanding as well  until the day which changed my life and life of my family as my father passed away, after that my childhood never was as it used to be before his death.

After the elementary school that I used to visit in Rečica ob Savinji I applied in a school for trading and economics in Celje that I successfully managed to complete after visiting it for five years.  

Next stage in my life was mandatory military training in Serbia which took me 14 months.

I was employed for more than 20 years in different companies and beside of the job my hobby always was art painting. I developed and upgraded my art potential for years showing it from the very first beginning in my childhood. Artistic talent is in my family genes as my relative Fran Tratnik was very well known and reputable artist in Slovenia and abroad. His artworks are esteemed even these days from the art experts and enthusiasts.

My passion for the art creating became way too strong in the early nineties of the previous century and at that time my decision was to become professional artist.

I started to perform in technique oil on stretched canvas as the technique of water colors that I started with as an amateur did not fulfill my appetite and the prior desire was to discover new technique which remains my favorite one even these days even though I never dropped water colors technique completely.

 I am self taught artist what does not mean at all that I have no theoretical knowledge as I visited a class of the well known academic painter and art professor who was my mentor for years. After I managed to acquire basic art stiles the next stage was to search a new unique and personal art stile what I still do these days as I am fully aware there is no perfectionism in the art and every days is a different-new story, so I believe there is much to be discovered and the possibilities are endless!

In my artworks I always leave a part of my personality no matter to the impacts from the community and other factors that we are surrounded with all the time. All this is resulted in my unique expression through my paintings in technique oil on canvas and water colors.

 I create and live with my family in my home town Šentjanž as the strength to my birth environment is just too strong and fills me with additional motivation and energy. All this is very important for the art creating in order to source new ideas, understanding of the nature-venue and myself as well which leads to performance through the eyes or the artist onto the canvas and paper.
