Sylvie Nicoloso - Virtual gallery of the artist

I was born in 1964 in France. I have grown in Châtenoy-the-Royal, a small city in the countryside. During my childhood, I thus could enjoy a peaceful environment, favourable for the perception of colors and forms.

I often drew the animals of the vicinity (cows, horses, hens). At the same time, I appreciated very much to reproduce the humorous images of the Mickey's Journal.

That enabled me to develop the technique of the drawing, the mixtures of colors as well as the precision in the handling of the brush (especially for the black outline of the characters).

I have also reproduced identity photographs with the pencil, a technique that I always appreciate.

It is only lately that I finally dared to use the oils that had been offered to me many years ago. So I intuitively took up the technique of the palette knife.

And I was quite surprised to sell one of my first paintings! (Oils on cardboard) This encouraged me to forge ahead and I now paint on cotton canvas, enjoying very much all these new experiences ...
