Quick access : Style with people | ![]() Born in the Sixties. Living mainly within the Hampshire area of the United Kingdom. It is only now I have found the time to paint and develop my paintings by exploring different mediums. Married for a second time. We have 7 children within the family and 1 grandson and 1 granddaughter. 1 cat and 2 rescue dogs that are all well loved. I love travelling taking on board all that is offered to experience, armed with my camera clicking anything I think may make a great painting. Art and crafts have always been in my life as my mum was always doing something with material, paints or wool she inspired me as a young child and it grow from there. I believe this is down to having a creative mum who was always doing something to do with arts and crafts. I will say painting is one of my biggest loves; it is my way of relaxing and chilling out. I find anything can inspire me anytime, anywhere, noting things down on scrapes of paper all the time with little drawings to help if and when I come back to it. I never repeat or have prints of my work as I feel this would not capture the essence of the original painting. My art is evolving all the time as I experiment with different mediums creating new pieces. All of pieces are unique original one of a kind in oils and acrylics never to be reproduced as prints. All of my life has provided influential moments because every second something happens that gives an idea for artwork. Paintings are everywhere waiting for someone to paint the view, street, person or anything that the paints make into a painting with the help of the artist. To me there is nothing better than having a day just painting in the open air while watching the world go by with that little bit on my canvas or paper for life.Having now found the time to paint and communicate my unique way of sharing. I work mainly in acrylics and oils on canvas with textures added for interest sometimes, experimenting with depth and dimension to create new alternative ways of looking at things so you can see almost how I see when I am painting an abstract. Working in a very colourful and individual way it makes my work instantly recognisable as a painting by Clare Harper. Creating pieces that people stop look walk away then come back and look again, thinking about it while walking away again, using bold striking colours and images making the paintings vibrant, different and interesting. Painting has given me enjoyment, great satisfaction and a completely different way of looking at life. It is a wonderful way for me to relax and recharge myself for everyday life. I love giving people something to look at and think about. I never repeat or have prints of my work as I feel this would not capture the essence of the original painting and everyone who enjoys art should have the chance to own an original artwork. With a loaded paintbrush and I disappear into the painting with its colours and shapes until it is finished in my eyes. |
