Elf Evans

While studying at Hollywood Art Centre School, I put energy into learning elements of composition, color, line and design along with my contemporaries. And, I still incorporate these ingredients in my paintings, only in the random manner that is dictated by the unplanned palette knife slicing, tube squeezing, straight from the can drippings that make up the body of my Art. Music has played a part in my artistic growth ever since my early youth in Chicago's South Side, listening to Jazz, Blues and Honky Tonk sounds along with Classical Music on the radio.
I paint as I do because my guts feel better when I'm through. Sometime the paintings paint themselves, and I stand aside an marvel at that.
My current work is being accomplished here in France, where I have lived since moving from Bellevue,Wa. in 2008. I truly hope you find my work has an appeal to your taste.
