Dardar is included among the prominent abstract painters selected and referenced in the “Bible of Abstract Art” (Volume 1, 2008 edition) as well as in the “Dizionario Enciclopedico Internazionale d’Arte Moderna e Contemporanea” (Casa Editrice Alba Ferrara, Italy, 2008) and on the Drouot-Cotation website (a dictionary of artists’ quotations from the 15th century to the present day, edited by art expert Christian SORRIANO, Larousse, 2008 & 2010 edition). Hers is an altogether new form of abstract painting that makes no attempt to represent the world of the senses. As she sees it, painting can bypass the model and break faith with subjective reality.
In the works of the young Moroccan painter Bouchra Dardar, the creative imagination is expressed to the full in compositions that remain intrinsically free, especially in those labelled as abstract and semi-abstract. Here, light lets through a discreet style that structures shapes and calls attention to them. The artist’s occasional tendency to “over-realise” produces abstract landscapes ablaze with colour, where primary tones reign supreme. Otherwise, Dardar’s more restrained compositions show that the artist is well able to synchronize components with a sensitive touch and delicate strokes of the brush.

In my art, I try to show what I feel, from inside and outside, and to depict it in an abstract manner.
