The Art Ferryman

Even the heightened artists test great difficulties of explaining their art whatever it is. With Bernard Bouyer, professor of the association Atelier Bernard, Maine-et-Loire county has the chance to possess not only a true master of the features but also a magician of the color. And who knows how to explain.

This is not due to hazard. Our man wasn’t born with a pencil or a brush at hand. Of course predispositions were there but work was needed, lot of work. Hours and hours, everyday, for years, he repeated the same movement under his masters’ advices, Jean ABADIE at first, and then Joseph MARTINEAU, for whom esthetic, purity of graphics, geometry, perspective, colors complexity, technical and their utilization and the scientific rigor of a human body were more important than imagination, was it fertile.

At the conclusion of those years of work, sanctioned by a certificate and follow by groups or personal expositions trough France and USA, Bernard BOUYER launched out in the working life but never lose sight of his easel, his sketchbooks, his pencils and his brushes. As soon as is work allows him, he lets gambol his mind and get away trough his painting. When he does not paint, he draws and when he does not draw, he kneads clay. Sometimes he even strikes at iron which he welds and twists to make appear a bird. And this with an equal success. As one of his friend enjoys to underline it, this man is outrageously gifted.

So, after 30 years of artistic experiences, Bernard BOUYER remembered that he owns much to his masters. He wants to follow this dynamic born thousands years ago which wants that when the pupil became master, he has to transmit his art in his turn. This is it since mists of time. For this, quite naturally, our man decided to transmit his knowledge to who want to learn or to improve. He joins this long tradition of art ferryman. “You have to give to receive”.
