Alain Godbout - Enter the gallery

Born in the Eastern region of Lower St-Lawrence of Qu├ębec, Alain Godbout is a watercolorist who lives and paints out of the Ottawa Valley area. Trained as an oil painter,, he will abandon painting for nearly 25 years before returning to the art in early 2000, resorting this time to watercolor.
Fundamentally, he is a self-trained watercolorist who refined his technique qui Roland Palmarets, Jean Pederson, Pierre Tougas and others...
His style is strictly figurative and showcases a search for light and vibrant colour with a mixture of transparency and opacity which can be found in watercolour on paper. His quest is dominated by three themes : the Outaouais landscape, scenes from daily life and people from this land.
Alain Godbout is a member of the Ottawa Watercolour Society, the Canadian Society of Painters in Watercolour and the Aylmer Arts Council.
