Quick access : Portraits Groups Miscellaneous | ![]() At first Photographer, Agnès BOULERY discovers the oil painting in 1991. The grace and dignity of Indian women, despite the adversity of life, touches her deeply and this subject appears naturally to be the one which she wants to translate onto her canvases. The bright and warm colours of their folds and pleats, as well as the postures and the movements of these women strenghen this feeling by giving a peculiar light, a glitter to her painting. This topic will not abandon her any longer, enriched from time to time by similar subjects, coming from other cultures, also including children and sometimes men.Straight from her beginnings she takes part in exhibitions, contests and gains several prices. Little time afterwards, she is requested to give oil painting classes, an activity which will long 6 years, until 2000. Split between her mother's life and that occupation, she finds only too little time to paint. In 2002, she carries out a magazine illustrating her own oil painting technique (Collection MAGIC ART N°15. Editions de Saxe, Lyon). That experience together with her desire to dedicate herself entirely to the realization of her artworks drive her, in 2003, to take the status of professional painter. She has a predilection for large sizes (1,95 X 1,30 m) and her style is marked by a combination of figurative (subject) and of abstract (background), and by the brightness of the colors. Her artworks have been exhibited ever since the end of 2003 in a Spanish gallery (Catalan Pyrenees). Technique: The canvases are covered with rumpled silk paper and are painted with oil and/or acrylic, and with brush and/or knife. |
